A farm road (nodo) is built to reach fields and to carry the harvest out. It is not a road under the Road Act like a national, prefectural or municipal road: it is built through Ministry of Agriculture programmes, and is usually maintained by the municipality.
Being a farm road does not mean you may not use it. Ordinary vehicles are normally free to. Remember, though, that farm machinery and people on foot are who these roads are for.
Which programme built a road changes what it is called, and the programme name is usually part of the road name itself. That is where the type shown on this site comes from.

The type tells you nothing about the speed limit. Roads without a centre line now have a statutory limit of 30km/h in Japan, but that follows from the centre line and the signs, not from which programme built the road. Follow the signs on the ground.
The type is derived mechanically from the programme name inside the road name. We have not checked signs on the ground or asked the road's keeper.
